In 1991, the Remscheid businessman Karl-Ludwig Schemmrich decided to introduce office furniture to his range of industrial furnishings. A few years earlier, Hesse redesigned the industry range.

In 1991, the Remscheid businessman Karl-Ludwig Schemmrich decided to introduce office furniture to his range of industrial furnishings. A few years earlier, Hesse redesigned the industry range. The office furniture created was an extension of this, using only »natural« materials such as steel, wood and glass.
